Nature Restoration Fund
Focusing on the Alness river and it's coastal tributaries, the Rosskeen and Pollo burns. This funding will provide us with a chance for us to collect biological and sociological data to help inform us on what the next steps could be for increasing biodiversity, whilst working directly with the communities and businesses that share this space.
What we are doing
We are focusing on two areas of the Alness River - the Rosskeen and Pollo burns - by engaging and building partnerships with landowners and the local community, conducting ecological surveys, monitoring local conditions and wildlife, and assessing opportunities for riparian and native woodland areas, that will integrate into and benefit the local landscape.
Why it matters
This will provide us with a chance for us to collect biological data, collate historical records, identify priorities for locals and landowners, initiate relationships with local people living in the area to share their ideas and knowledge, and partner with existing nature related community groups.
If this is you and you're interested in us having a look at potential opportunities for biodiversity enhancement, watercourse improvements, nature-based solutions or regenerative agricultural practices, then please contact us through our 'Contact' page!
